Adventures in Caravan Towing and Rabbit Sewing: 24th April 23
Highland Daytrip / New Rabbit Doll / USA Shipping
Good morning, dear readers, how are you doing? I am well. I've not done any more to my small paintings, which is playing on my mind. I have bought paint supplies though, so hope that counts for something..hmm, not so sure it does!
It was an odd disjointed week with much stopping and starting and being unsure where I left off but there was some sewing, more website SEO, and quite a lot of time traveling, with 90% of that on the motorway. Let me tell you more.
Highland Daytrip
My in-laws have a caravan, which is kept on a very picturesque site in the Highlands over the summer season. To make it easier for them my other half offered to tow it up to their pitch. On Thursday he took the day off work and I decided to keep him company on the trip. We luckily chose the best day to go - the sun was blazing! To begin with, I was ultra paranoid that the caravan would become detached from us and cause some major motorway pile-up so I kept my eye on the wing mirror but after a while, I relaxed and enjoyed watching the big blue sky and white fluffy clouds floating by. We played Eye-spy, made good time, and arrived without incident. Got the van in place, and Robb’s parents, who were following on behind arrived and offered to take us for lunch. We ate very well at Kincraig Post Office and headed back home via Aviemore where we stopped to investigate the charity shops, and somehow made room for giant chocolate waffle cones filled with two scoops of the most delicious ice cream. How we managed I’ve no idea, but we were on a day trip with a backdrop of snow-sprinkled mountains, on probably the warmest day of the year so far, so ice cream was an absolute necessity!
New Rabbit Doll
This rabbit (as yet unnamed) is something I’ve been working on in-between other things for the last few weeks. I had hoped to have it ready for Easter but never quite made it, however, it’s almost finished now...and it’s still spring! I will make her a flower posy and then she’ll be done. I’m planning on keeping this one because the process of making her was quite involved. I used fabric scraps to create a unique piece of new cloth which was then embellished with embroidery both by hand and with the machine. It took more hours than you might imagine, and although I enjoyed it no end, it would be impossible to price for selling as a ‘product’. What I am thinking of is creating some tutorials for my website on techniques like making the scrap fabric, and I’d still like to offer sewing patterns at some point. This would let me indulge my love for working with fabrics but sew in a leisurely way, instead of going faster, faster, faster...which has been known to happen, and is no good for body or soul.
When I shared an in-progress shot without the ears on Facebook someone thought it looked like a squirrel, which gave me another idea!
Shop News
Since Brexit (downward turned mouth emoji) I’ve only been shipping within the UK because I found the new rules and regs quite overwhelming. This has not only been bad for business, when times are already tight but made me unhappy that I’ve not been offering a good enough service to customers further afield. With that, in mind, I've been investigating delivery options and am very happy that I’m now shipping to the USA once again.
I’ll be working on my delivery policies and adding more destinations in the near future, until then please get in touch for a quote if you don’t live in the UK or USA and there’s something you can’t live without.
So that’s it for now, have a great week! Or, if life is getting you down find a rabbit to hug or a teddy bear.

Ooo what a lovely trip! Thanks for sharing! I love your rabbit too!
I have also felt really sad about not offering international shipping, I haven’t known where to start, well done on sorting your shipping to USA 😁👍
