Thank you for sharing your absolutely charming and beautiful cat drawings. Also a big thanks for your thoughtful words on both drawing and writing. I hope you continue to enjoy your drawing and look forward to seeing more in this series. As for when to post - it really does not matter to me as I look at Substack most days x
So impressed with your drawings of Melba and Marco, Julia. I really did wonder at first if they were by some famous artist like Rembrandt. They are so beautifully rendered.
Your thoughts on writing are similar to my own so that I hesitate to write at all, even now, but you come through with such clarity and I do appreciate your insights.
As for timing your Substack posts, it could be anytime as, like you, I save them to read when life slows down.
Thanks for reading Lorraine, and for your wonderful compliment on my drawings! Good to hear that the posting day isn't important - I think that might help me post more often because I'm often writing at the last minute which makes it more of a chore, whereas if I don't need to think about a deadline I can relax and it's actually helpful for organising my thoughts.
I know so many people use deadlines to keep themselves accountable, but I find my creativity likes to be free to wander. So often I've wanted to amend what I've created, written or otherwise, after "the gate was closed". You do have a real gift. It's so easy to succumb to the expectations of others and suppress our truth to accommodate. It took me a long time to learn how to use boundaries to free myself. More power to you to negotiate your way between deadlines and personal boundaries.

Thank you so much for your kind words Cathy. Great to have your feedback on my drawings -I'm looking forward to doing more!
The reason I follow is to connect through your thought process and the emotion behind the work. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks Sally, that's encouraged me to write more :)
These are absolutely beautiful drawings!
Thanks Cally, they were such a pleasure to work on :)
