I was supposed to be writing this week’s edition but instead, I made a November graphic for my monthly newsletter. Pictures always come first. They help me think.
So, what am I thinking?
That I’m anxious, and that’s why writing has been such a struggle this week. I’ve made progress on lots of tasks but the busyness hasn’t resulted in ‘production’ and that’s making me uneasy. I always need to see physical evidence that work is going well.
That I LOVE the colours in nature at this time of year. Wandering around my soggy neglected garden looking for leaves to photograph was such a treat. The red berries and shiny green leaves of the Cotoneaster are my favourite - (it’s on my list of motifs I want to use for design). Earthy autumn colour schemes do so much more for me than flashy summer ones ever can.
That in the last week, there have been some amazing sunsets - I want to bottle that beautiful golden light, just before the sun goes down, then bring it out and savour it on the darkest days of winter.
That I’m glad my new postal boxes arrived. I’m updating my packaging and will be able to show you soon.
That I could spend all of next week looking at this Instagram account and not get bored. Rowena has a shop too - I’m so tempted.
Until next time, Julia x
